Tennessee Family

Jon and his team had a tough night, too. The first batter hit a routine ground ball to third, it was muffed, and that pretty much set the tone for the evening. Five runs (mostly unearned) scored in the first inning, and the team never really seemed to get a rhythm going.

Second inning went better, with no runs scored and only 4 batters up, but the damage was already done.

We stranded and insane number of runners--bases loaded a couple of times, two runners on a couple of more times.

Jon went 1 for 4 (one of only 3 hits, I think, and definitely 1 of only 2 runs scored).
 

Kathy, it could have been worse! What if Squibb had been the football coach???
 

Jonathan went 4-for-4 with 3 RBIs on Saturday. He was the winning pitcher of record (which is sort of unfair to Peyton, the starting pitcher, since the two relievers between Peyton and Jon gave up the runs...) He also picked off a runner at first, and took the win in spite of two key errors by the third baseman (Peyton, again, so maybe it is fair for Jon to get the W) and shortstop.
